I do like to smoke minis every once in a while. IMHO they do have a good amount of flavor and enjoyment as other cigars.

Of course since it is a lot smaller so it wont have a large blend of tobacco flavors, but that does not mean that what they contain lacks anything. But you do have to smoke them slower, or it will get hot, and then they will suck.

 

I have been smoking CAO Mx2 Daggers lately. I have a short walk into work and what better way to enjoy a walk then with a cigar.

I picked up a pack of CAO Gold minis, they come in a box of 20 and are about the size of a cigarette. Now when my co-worker smokes his cigarettes I can sometimes have a smoke with him

+1. The CAO gold mini's are pretty darn good. They look like a joint. With a RG of only 20, it takes about 5 minutes to smoke.... if that.

 

ive always wanted to try the onyx and carlos torano mini's but my closest local b&m doesnt stock them. just the cohibas , macundo , and RyJ's. i may have to venture out to the others.
i did buy a tin of cao moontrance while i was in NC last week since the smell isnt too offensive and the fiance likes em. i think there should be more cigarillo reviews/discussion.

 

I smoke cigarillos and mini's quite often as there are allot of times when i just want a quick 5-10 min smoke with a coffee or when doing things in the garden.

The regulars tell me that the flavors are not as big as the cigars are but, it's a cigar-like experiance in 30min or less. I've not had them before but I love the J. Fuego Origins "Originals" in Nat/Mad/Sangre. If I was looking for the best flavors I would avoid the Dry Cured sticks. Those are different in many ways. These are our best sellers:

Good info. I didn't know that RP made the vintage series 90/92/99 into juniors. If I'm ever in georgetown I'll have to stop by and check them out.

I know they make a regular junior in a connie, sumatra, and maduro. I have only had the sumatra juniors which were just ok.

Good topic. I'm always looking out for good small cigars. In my experience they're pretty hit-and-miss but that's why I keep looking for the hits. There's a much better market for them and thus better selection in Europe, as far as I can tell.

I recently picked up a tin both of Fuente Cubanitos and Ashton Senoritas (Nat). I haven't tried the Fuentes yet as I'm giving them just a few weeks to acclimate, so I'll chime in on those soon. I tried one Ashton Senorita ROTT and it was the definition of "might as well smoke a paper bag." Hoping that was just a fluke.

I also picked up some Villiger Kiel Brasil, which look pretty rugged and have a strong smell to them as well as a smokey scent. I'm pretty sure they're not dry-cured until many of Villiger's small smokes. I'll give a comment about those once I try a couple.

As far as dry-cured go:
I really like Cafe Creme Arome from time to time. I keep a few tins around. You don't have to take care of them, and the flavors and scents are really quite good for a 15 min smoke.
Villiger Braniff No. 3 Maduros are quite tasty. They're rough around the edges, but very full-flavored, and they're longer sticks, probably good for 1/2hr if you smoke it slowly (which you should).
Dry-cured is a whole different experience, though, so it's not where you should look if you want exactly the premium-but-shorter experience. They can be quite good if approached for what they are!

Are the Drew Estate Tabak Especial the "Cafecita" size? I wonder if they're worth trying...

Maybe I'll become the resident expert on these small smokes, because I hope to give them all a taste!

 

This is what I think of most mini cigars:

I think the only one that I remember liking was a several year old CAO Criollo Pampa. And damn was it good.

 

I got a couple of tins of Cuban Honeys Amaretto. They were very good, and $5 for a tin of 10 on Cbid.

 

I'm a fan of the smaller cigars that are in between the size of a cigarette and the size of a corona, such as Illusione 68, Curivari Reserva Limitada Petit Cafe, and Tatuaje Petite Tatuaje/Cazadores Reserva. I haven't had the MUWAT Bait Fish or Papas Fritas yet, but I'm interested in trying them once some of the buzz dies down, along with the price. If you're a fan of the following brands, I would definitely give the minis I listed a shot... they are awesome for a half hour smoke. Also, if anyone has any suggestions along these lines, I'd love to hear them!

 

I really enjoy the CAO MX2 Daggers. Really good flavor for a small stick, and a very quick smoke. The draw is obviously going to be a bit tight, but that's the case with all of these really small mini cigars.

For slightly longer short smokes, I'm currently going crazy over the Papas Fritas. I was going to buy a box of them, but the pricing per stick currently comes out the same as buying tins individually, so I only bought two more tins. Unless things change, I plan to always have some on hand.

The MUWAT Bait Fish is also a good shorter smoke, but I don't smoke these very often now that the Papas Fritas are out - when I want a MUWAT, the +11s are my go to vitola.

 

Little HAND MADE cigars are a great way to enjoy premium cigars if you have a relatively short amount of time. They're good for about 15 to 20 mins, more or less.

They're not gonna taste like they're Big Brothers though. Its the Ring gauge that greatly changes the flavor between vitolas.

Partly the reason why Baitfish tastes so different from the original MUWATs.
