I've been a member for a while and, for whatever reason, completely overlooked this thread. Dad left me this watch. He bought this new back in '73. As a young sailor, he couldn't really afford it, (he sold a camera to help pay for it), but bought it anyway. The bracelet has his initials on it and, while he was alive, joked that "one day, this will be yours, it already has your initials on it!" He took very good care of it, wore it every day, and had it serviced a few times. After he passed, I sent it back to Rolex to have the watch serviced and the bracelet replaced, (I kept the original, because Rolex keeps bracelets if you send a watch back to get replaced) I had the jeweler match the font from the original, and had it engraved to match. Dad was meticulous. He kept the original box and all of the paperwork. It's in pretty good shape for a timepiece that pushing 50 years. It keeps great time.
He wore it every day and so do I.
