I enjoy reading about what people are smoking but I'm only interested in Habanos. So, here's a thread for us to talk about what Habanos we're smoking, and of course in the Habanos section of Puff.

Please keep this to Habanos only :)

I'll start it off.

Saturday started with an '08 H.Upmann Coronas Major. I bought this box about 6 months ago and they weren't that good at the time, looks like 6 months in my humidor has helped as this one was much better than the last. After that I moved on to an '08 Juan Lopez Seleccion No.2. These are quickly becoming one of my favorite smokes, put an order in for two boxes today in fact. Cigar number three was supposed to be an '08 Juan Lopez Seleccion No.1, this cigar was so badly plugged that after fighting with it for 10 minutes I did an autopsy (it was so tightly wrapped it was like a brick inside, not to mention the several pieces of stem - by far the worst stick construction wise that I've ever had). So after suffering through that my real cigar number three became an '08 PLPC.

Sunday was an '07 Epi #2 and another '08 Juan Lopez #2. Mmm mmm good.

RyJ Belvederes ROTT. I noted the colorado claro wrappers in my "purchased lately" post and I really do find them extremely desirable for CC's, much more so than darker oilier wrappers touted by many people as the best.

Anyway, great little cigar. Granted, I've only ever had one or two boxes of Belvederes prior to this one. But these are so far above any I've had before it's hard to believe it's the same cigar. And I think the lighter wrapper has a lot to do with that.

1999 La Flor de Cana selecto (discontinued 2002)
These were a value cigar, and were eventually machine made. The pre 2000 were totally hand made with long filler.
First one I had was a bit tight, and underwhelming, but now they have had a year to stabilize at 65rh, and they are nice little cigars. Smooth, creamy,with cedar, spice, no "barnyard/ammonia" notes at all, and the earthy/soil flavours have faded way back. I rarely retrohale, as I'm a bit of a wimp after being stung a few times, but this one is smooth enough, and the retrohale is sweet, with liquorice and pepper up front, green, grassy notes on the back. Ok I'm babbling now, maybe they snuck some left handed tobacco in this one!!! Well, so much for "saving" these ones!

Yesterday had a 2913 La Flor de Cano Gradiosos RE. It was my first LFDC ever. A light to medium smoke good construction and decent flavor. Sweet cedar notes throughout the entire smoke. Was a much appreciated gift from a true BOTL.
