I have a 35 year old Rolex Submariner that has never kept good time, it's been back to Swiss land 4 times, but it still varies 3 or 4 minutes a day. Piece of Crap!! I gave my son a Chase Durer UDT Chronograph for his 30th birthday, but it is too large a watch for me. I have been looking at Omega Seamaster watches and also Luminox Stealth Titanium Cronograph. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with either of these watches. I already have a Navy Seal Luminox, but the Stealth model in Titanium looks good. Any info from you guys would be appreciated. I think I may go with a quartz Omega if I go the Omega route, I am too disenchanted with the Swiss Automatic Chronometers. Thanks

The luminox stealth watch is basically the same as the seal watch same movement, same luminecense and everything. The navy seal titanium looks pretty good too ya know.

I have the regular Luminox and I love it. I would get the titanium model, but I prefer a more durable model for everyday and outdoor wear.

Lamar, judging from the experiences that I have had with mine, and my father with his Presidents model, you would be better off with the Omega. If my Rolex had been through the beating that my Luminox has it would be total junk, but the Luminox just keeps on ticking. I am leaning towards another Luminox, something a little dressier than my original Seal model. which has been virtually indestructable, plus even with just one good eye I can tell what time it is in the dark. :D

Poker, check out your local Costco, the one we have has 7 different Breitling models. The prices are much better than a jewelry store. :w

I've been wearing my Citizen Blue Angels model lately. It's not a high dollar timepiece ($300 retail I think) but has some pretty cool complications. http://www.princetonwatches.com/shop/JR3080-01L.asp

I've also been buying Invictas. I have a Lupah and an automatic pro-diver, which is basically a knock off of a Rolex GMT. I bought my wife the ladies model of the auto pro-diver and she loves it. http://discountinvictawatches.com/store/

I got a nice Raymond Weil as a gift froma friend and wear it as a "dress up" watch.

Like poker said though, my next watch will be a Breitling. Probably a Colt auto, but I've been looking at some of the dual models too (digital display along with the regular timepiece).

I really have been liking these lately, though.

Edisonbird,

Bummer about the Rolex,
My "Great White Wife" (she's quite pale) got me an Omega Seamaster for my birthday a few years ago. God I love her!

It works like a charm, I figure I lose about one second per day.
I compare it to a clock that recieves radio signals from the atomic clock in Colorado. I'm friggin' anal about the time so I adjust the watch every month or so.

I've got the auto wind, stay away from the quartz, you don't want some maroon who doesn't know what he's doing cracking open the back to change the battery.

Check out Wartimers.com for some cool alternatives. I haven't dealt with them, but I've been drooling over some of their watches.

Good Luck!
