Very real concerns as far as I am concerned. With all of the fear about the future and people losing their homes and jobs and everything in between people are in fear not only for their goods but their lives. When times like this happen people want to know that they are going to be taken care and when their is unrest they will take whatever precaution they feel appropriate to protect their environment. I know a lot of people who have taken up reloading their own shells and that is a cheaper way of taking care of ammunition but care needs to be taken in doing so. Attention to detail is the credo when doing this yourself. I have seen friends give a double shot of powder because they got their attention diverted.

I live next to a town that has a law that all households need to have a gun on their premises,,,pretty proactive if you ask me.

I reload all my range (not self defense) ammo for my 45ACP. Saves a boat load of money in the long run. And the equipment wasnt too terrible expensive. Ive done the accidental double shot of powder before...BUT ive caught it before the bullet was seated in the case. Not sure about all calibers but at least with the 45ACP a double shot is very noticable. If its a big concern auto loaders are nice. They do everything but make you breakfast. They really speed up production. I however just enjoy sitting infront of the press and loading one at a time. And no.......I dont smoke cigars while loading. Learned my lesson.:fear:

My wife is taking a couple of handgun classes this wekend & I've been trying to find some practice ammo for her to take...not having a lot of luck. The Blazer 9mm was our standard fodder for the Glocks but nobody has any.

I keep a decent stock pile of ammo in various calibers at all times.

I search around some of the gun and survival forums I am part of and see what deals are around. When I see something good, I grab it, but I won't go overboard and pay an insane price.

Also, I try and hold off until the gun show comes around, which is about once a month. I usually find the best deals on bulk ammo there.

If you think it is bad in the US try Canada. If it is not shotgun or rifle ammo then you usually have to go to a gun shop. :banghead:

Most times there is a good supply of ammo where I live because of so few handgun owners.

I turned 21 the other day, applied for my CCW permit the same day. Ammo, especially for my AK's (7.62X39) is scarce. I've found a few thousand, and a few thousand for my 9mm as well.
My old man has some 7.62 that he would probably give away! Its Chinese still sealed in a tin case, packaged in 20 round bundles (1000 to a case) FMJ. I think there are 2 sealed and one open with prolly 500 rounds left. Problem is its corrosive powder. Way to much cleanup needed and dont ever leave a round in the chamber over night in your truck after youve fired about 50 rounds of the crap.......you have to drive the round out with a rod and a hammer!!!

If he's giving it away I'll pay shipping...
