With colder weather approaching soon I was wondering if you all slow your cigar smoking down or smoke indoors. I purchased a few smoke eliminating odor candles the other day and they seem to work fairly well so far. I like to kick back on my couch and smoke but am worried about the odors lingering a few days afterwards. I of course keep the windows open when smoking but wondering if there are any other tricks you others use. Thanks.

At the tinderbox they have burners you fill with oil that eat smoke smells and smell really good... well it eats all odors and its a clean burn so it doesnt leave an residue on furniture. The oil costs like $18 a bottle and the burner costs like $30. I think they have a starter kit for $40 for the burner and a smaller version of the oil.

I have a smoke room down in my basement that I use in the winter or if i want to watch TV. I'll be there tomorrow smokin watching the Ohio State game and Sunday watching NFL games.

Here is a link to the manufacturers website for the lamp and oil.

I've got a basement that I sealed from the rest of the house, put ventilation in (double exhaust fan in the window), and I'm good to go.
That's awesome, one day I'll have a smoking room cut off from the house as well....

In the meantime though, I'll smoke in the garage during the colder nights (yes, it's gets cold here).

Yeah, I have to worry about this too. Soon it will start dipping into the low 90s here and 80 by January... Brrrr

When I was in Chicago in Feb, I braved the cold every night for a walk and a smoke. Had to drink alcohol 'cause if I drank soda or water, it would freeze!

That's great!!! I'm a died in the wool south Georgia boy, but I've always loved cold weather. Not BEING cold, but being bundled up and warm and outside when it's cold as hell and you pretty much have the world to yourself. You'd probably like one of my favorite winter cigar walks:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Various. At home the house is completely surrounded by a five foot apron of deck with a five foot cantilevered hip roof so there's always a dry, warm or cool spot as the season provides. Also, picnic table at the fire pit circle and another picnic table outside my shop/shed. Winter time I really, really enjoy my nocturnal "dog walks" on cold clear nights - bundle up, pick one of eight willing dogs (usually one of the six large ones as they are a better source of heat), step out the door and begin strolling, almost always ending up lying on my back in a deep dry pile of leaves, head resting on a rock or log, dog snuggled up against me, cigar burning bright. If you don't live in the middle of the woods like we do, this option might be difficult, or at least get you into odd conversations with your neighbors or the constabulary as to why you are lying in their azaleas at midnight. On the other hand, I've come damn close to discovering the meaning of life on some of these jaunts.

That sounds pretty good.. While Aces is dying to move in, I'm dying to move out. Isn't that always the case?

But not to digress from the topic... the majority of people I know that are north have done some setup in the basement where they smoke.

I got a kerosene heater this year at Lowe's in March (closeout season for something like that) for $50. Works great in my basement, I'd imagine it'd work for ya in your garage as well.
