I can take this one, with the next 4 days being very busy, it may be Monday or Tuesday before I can get it to the post office. If that’s ok let me know.

That’s a Double Maduro. Dominican and Nicaraguan blend. The Nub is Nicaraguan.

I’m smoking it right now. It’s good. I wish I was good at identifying flavors the way a lot of you guys are because there is definitely a predominant note that I just can’t put a name to.

Could it be a slight taste of clay? I’ve smoked a few but never reviewed one. I just threw that one in so you could compare to the Nub. Same wrapper but it has Dominican either in the filler or binder.

Maybe, clay really isn't a flavor that I associate with comestibles. Milk of magnesia comes to mind when I think of clay as a flavor. I kept trying to classify it as some sort of earthy spice or herb which would be in the clay ballpark I guess.

I'll have the Nub later today and see if I can remember enough of this one to make a comparison.

Not to hijack this thread too much but I'm interested in your Rojas journey too.

@bearinvt The Rojas is very interesting. it takes some time to work through them all. It’s a great introduction kit. I’m slightly over 1/3 as of now. Noel has a video online. The kit can be shared with 3 people.

On another note cigar wheels are a good way to help sort through different flavors and nuances.
