My, the Senators just plain stunk tonight.:huh_oh::mumbles:
They better get their sh*t together, Alfie or not, or they'll be gone in 4 games, 5 max.

Don Cherry has reached new heights of fashion, which was about the most interesting thing about tonight for me. (I couldn't watch the whole game.) We'll see how many angry letters CBC gets because Don insulted Germans at intermission.

BTW, many games are broadcast live at http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/ - and the "on-demand" video has all the highlights (and Coach's corner w/Don Cherry, and Scotty Bowman's predictions). :teacher: CBC also has a "tracker" page, but I can't get it to work with my low-bandwidth connection.

Winter is officially over - the playoffs have begun! :wazzapp:

STARS WIN!!! The boys from Texas just gave an all out thumping of the defending Stanley Cup Champions. 4-0! I had myself my own little victory cigar and enjoyed one of those CAO Anniversary Maduro Perfectos I won in Bigfoot's contest. If any of ya'll ever get a chance to get one, definitely pull the trigger. It was extremely tasty and I'm certain that it will age beautifully! Thanks again Brian for providing a perfect ending to a perfect night!

Oh hey Craig, I think Pittsburgh would be too good for just about anyone right now, excluding Montreal. But what's happened to Ottawa? I don't want to look "collapse" in the dictionary in fear that I may see the Senators logo staring back at me!: :eeek:

Nah, you have to look under "choke" ... Ottawa is a high-scoring team when everyone's healthy, but with Alfredson out, Fisher out ...

Anaheim - didn't see the game, but allowing four(?) power-play goals ... if they keep that up, then they'll be gone pretty quick. Just like Ottawa, Anaheim has to wake up.

The Calgary/Sharks series looks to be interesting to watch. Mike Keenan blowing a gasket is always entertaining - he probably has some justification, lots of penalties.

I'm rooting for Montreal.

Anaheim was playing stupid. Lots of dumb penalties made it super easy for the Stars. But the Stars were playing really well, so even if Anaheim was playing smart I still think Dallas would've won.

Iron Mike is hilarious. I'm hoping that series goes to seven, it should be very entertaining.

I'm rooting for Montreal too. I would love to see the Stars and the Habs face off in the finals. Imagine the storylines! Guy Carbonneau was a key player in the Stars Stanley Cup runs in 1999 and 2000 and Bob Gainey was the GM for the Stars during that period as well. Brenden Morrow (our captain) is married to Guy Carbonneau's daughter and Montreal's assistant coach (Doug Jarvis) was in the same role under Ken Hitchcock during those Cup runs. Also, 2 of our best players right now (Mike Ribeiro and Stephane Robidas) were Montreal castoffs. It makes me excited just thinking of what could happen in that series.

I was so rip-shit yesterday at not being able to see my B's play the Habs, that I was steaming... in retrospect I am glad I didn't see them.

Looks like that series could be ugly. Time for the B's to step it up a bit and start banging the boards with some Habbies. ;)

O/time baby! With a four minute minor going in!

edit: damn, what is it with officiating? I may want Montreall to win, but that was a bullsh*t penalty on Boston for hooking, and no penalty on Montreal? In overtime in the playoffs! WTF?!?

I think Boston will be super-p*ssed and will win both in Beantown.

At least I got the tracker working, highlights from all games on one screen every 15 minutes, games on another, full-screen zoom enabled - http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/HNICInteractive/

Nashvile looks like they should just get the golf clubs out now. They get a freebie goal and still get smoked by Detroit ...

edit2: Very pretty first goal by Dallas.

*Doing a little hoppy circly dance* I'm so happy right now! I didn't even expect the Stars to be doing this well! The next two games are going to be in Dallas and I'm almost certain I'm going to the first one (Tuesday). Hooray for student discount!

OT again!

Better officiating tonight, IMHO.

edit: Great game. First team to screw-up on o/time looses. Beauty shot by Savard.

Switch to Calgary/San Jose

Wow, San Jose - 3 very pretty goals in four minutes. Calgary is asleep. First goal on the power-play Kiporsov was perhaps asleep, but on the next two, where was the defence? Talk about quieting down a crowd.

edit2: Great game, CuJo was a pro, San Jose went into cruise control and were out-hustled. Calgary was great at killing penalties, and didn't deserve the first one and the delay of game penalty at the end. San Jose, however, did not kill penalties ...

Now, let's see what happens tomorrow. I predict (ok, hope) that the Sens will win.
