Is that a humidor or a jewelry box? I’ve never seen s cigar humidor that doesn’t implement the use of Spanish cedar.
Mahogany is a perfectly acceptable alternative to Spanish cedar but I’m not sure I would want one that’s finished on the inside even if it’s just natural oil or wax
I am sure the woodworkers on here would have a better take than I

That’s a very pretty box!

Spanish cedar is neither Spanish nor what most of us in the US know as cedar. It’s very similar to mahogany (same family Meliaceae) but a little less dense. A humidor made from mahogany without any SC really doesn’t sound all that strange to me, especially since they’re so similar.

I probably wouldn’t have put any finish the inside of a mahogany humidor, but as long as it doesn’t have a weird odor, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I sealed the inside of my humidor because I lined it with eastern red cedar and ERC has a STRONG smell I didn’t want permeating my cigars, so I know that it can be done.
