First, I don't give a rat's ass what these bozos did 35 years ago. What they did in the past 10 years matters. I know what Bush has done, for the life of me I can't say what the heck Kerry has done for the US in his Senate "service". Gore at least has some environment issues....what about Kerry? No clue.

Here are the scores for Vietnam:

Bush: used family drag to get into the TX national guard -1
went AWOL, in all probability drinking and snorting coke -1
Bush Vietnam score -2

Kerry: volunteered and went to Vietnam +2
came back and backstabbed American soldiers with vile lies -5
Kerry Vietnam score -3

What they have done for the US in the past 10 years.

Bush: Governor of TX +3
President +5
Kicked the Talaban's ass & went after Al Queda +5
Went into Iraq based on nonsense -3
Bush past 10 year score +10

Kerry: Senator +3
What the *&^% did he do there? -5
Kerry past 10 years score -2

Bush 8 Kerry -5

For the life of me I can't tell what Kerry wants to do with America. He voted for military action in Iraq and would do things differently? FLUSH. :al

Now, I'm neither Democrat nor Republican. I have strong conservative views on some things (very much for constitutional bans on gay marriage and abortion, I don't believe in defecit spending) and very liberal views on other things (screw the tax laws, burn them all, make a simple fair flat tax, I believe in reasonable gun controls).

I hate Asscroft's guts. Cheney is a weasel. Most of Bush's team is composed of right wing zealots. OTOH, I think W himself has become a great father and is an honorable man. Not that bright, but certainly good enough for the job.

I hate Edwards guts (like Kerry too). He is a power weasel, making millions by suing doctors and doing his best to eff up our medical system by making insurance for physicians ridiculously high. I hate Hillary's guts. Socialist bitch.

My state is going to vote republican with or without my vote. I don't like either candidate at all but I simply can't vote for Kerry, no way, no how. I think I said elsewhere I would rather vote for myself. I want your vote too, here is my platform.

1. Quadruple the manpower going into the hunt for Osama. Once we find him, we burn him alive at the stake in public.

2. Get the heck out of Iraq asap.

3. Solve the Israeli Palestinian problem. Jam it down their throats, they'll both squeal but eff them.

4. Open trade with Cuba, limit trade with China.

5. Jobs....we need jobs. Get rid of corporate welfare and use the money to create, support, retool, retrain and bring good jobs back to Americans. I don't mind tariffs at all if they bring jobs back to us.

6. Move quickly on alternate sources of energy. I'm damned tired of sending Saudis our money for oil. Oh, and a full investigation on their links with 911 will occur.

7. Legalize weed. I don't smoke weed, I could care less. But we're wasting a pile of money putting people in jail for stupid reasons, losing tax revenue, and supporting criminals by having weed illegal.

8. We need to do something about teen pregnancy. We need to do something about crime. I'm talking stiffer jail sentences for violent criminals and mandatory life in prison for many crimes. Oh, and the prisoners will be breaking damned rocks. No more of this bullshit of having jails like friggin SPAS.

9. Get rid of the damned pennies.

Please vote for me.

Wow, that's all I need to hear to know that I'll never vote for you :r

That's the WORST thing we could ever do, we have to finsh what we started. If we don't, we risk leaveing a festering wound of a country in the Middle East which will most certainly turn into the world's largest terroist factory.

That's like if a doctor cut off the wrong leg and realized it half-way through sugery, but instead of just finishing the job, he just says fugg it and does nothing at all. Just leaves the leg hanging on by a few ligaments and skin, no bangades or anything, doesn't even cut of the leg that needed to be cut off. Guess what's going to happen, both legs are going to become infected and the person will die a painful death and probably speard some weird diease to his family, who will die too. That's what WILL happen in Iraq if we don;t stay the course, even Kerry knows that much...

Is there a teen preganancy epidemic that I'm not aware of or something. I guess you want to shift the money you save from legalizing weed to fight teen pregnancy, both are about the same waste of money and manpower IMHO.

Sooooo, do you plan on doing something about prison overcrowding before or after you triple the number of prisoners in the system?

nice post trey

We cannot pull out of Iraq. The country has this Vietnam stigma attached to Iraq and now thinks that leaving our soldiers hanging and pulling out is the best method (it didnt work the first time around). Pulling out never works.....just look at a Catholic family.

Iraq is not Vietnam II. When you look at the situation, it resembles WWII more than Vietnam. The only parallel I have heard drawn between Iraq and Vietnam that makes sense is the guerilla-type warfare. The same exact thing existed in Germany after the war and during allied occupation. We did not defeat the Nazis and then they just gave up, made nice cars, and became the weak nation they are today. The SS went underground and we had to a) fish them out ourselves and b) bring about change to Germany, so the people could see a better way of life and could become more powerful and be able to police themselves. This is exactly what we need to do in Iraq.

The invasion of Iraq was an absolutely necessary move. No ifs ands or buts. See http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5951&page=5 for my full explaination.

Very interesting views SeanGAR. I agree with most however, I will not focus on each point individually. We could go on and on about weed, teen pregnancy, Iraq and taxes....

The main point is we need to focus on what President Bush and Senator Kerry have done lately. Bottom line.

I'm not going on a rant...I just spent 3 hours trying to get home from work

:c

Damn...I-95, I-195, I-64 all closed because of flooding in downtown Richmond..

whether you agree with the decision to go into iraq or not (i do), to pull out now would be very foolish. now that US troops are there, they must remain until the job is done. to pull out now would be making the same mistake that Bush sr. made.

Getting out of Iraq does not mean we drop and leave. It means we support a multinational ARABIC force to take over security.

Apparently.

Here are some readings for you.

Actually, the opposite is true. How many people are in prison for minor drug offenses? Would you believe more than 500,000? Nonviolent first offenders caught with only small amounts of a controlled substance frequently are given prison sentences of five to 10 years or more. The number of nonviolent offenders in the nation's prisons is filling them to overflowing, literally. The resulting overcrowding is forcing violent felons onto the streets with early releases.
