I've asked around about this but not many people have experienced this. I have smoked on and off for years until 6 months ago. I purchased a humidor and some nice sticks (cubao, san cristobal, diamond crown Maximus) and have been smoking 2-3 a day and really enjoying it. However, on 2 or 3 occasions my taste for the cigar left me for 24-48 hours. I wasn't sick or stuffy so I was perplexed and a little scared cuz I love smoking them and don't want to lose that enjoyment. My daily smoke is the cubao and I tried smoking others when this happened but they all tasted like nothing. Then 24 hours later I can taste again. Any others experience this?

It's like a hangover, leave off cigars for a couple of days and you would be alright.

Also, I would recommend smoking slower and stretching your sticks out. Savour rather than herf them. Limit yourself to just one or two sticks a day max if you are a regular smoker.

Go milder sticks in the daytime and full flavoured ones in the night. Try to avoid really spicy food with lots of chilli and pepper just before a smoke. They dull your taste sensation somewhat.

Most of us are not trained professionals so this is bound to happen from time to time.

Have you switched toothpaste recently? The reason I ask is about 10 yrs ago I switched to Colgate Total and it totally numbed my taste for cigars. Another member here posted a similar thread to yours and I told him my Colgate story and it turned out he just switched to it too.

It's probably your senses just being overused. I know that they often times give drug dogs a few days off because their noses stop working as well from prolonged use. Not saying you're a dog or anything, but maybe take a break for a few days and see how it goes.
