Good news, everyone! We've got pricing info and options from David M. You can vote for as many as you'd like.

Keep in mind that you should probably just vote for the ones you really want. Otherwise, I can imagine everyone picking their favorites, plus the cheaper ones and then guess what, we end up with the a cheaper one owing to cost, not because it's a favorite. If you want the cheaper options anyhow, that's fine of course.

We'll just call the poll closed when the voting slows/stops.

Option 1
Everything exactly as in picture 1
the pipe is $125 and extra costs of $15 = $140

Option 2
Everything exactly as in picture 1 but with an Aluminum Ring and a Black Mouthpiece
the pipe is $100 and extra costs of $15 = $115

Option 3
Smooth finish with a Dark stain with Aluminum Ring and Black Mouthpiece the pipe is $100 and extra costs of $15 = $115

Option 4
Blasted pipe with Dark stain with Ferrule, Aluminum Ring and Black Mouthpiece
the pipe is $75 and extra cost of $15 = $90

Option 5

Blasted pipe with Light stain, with Ferrule, Aluminum Ring and Black Mouthpiece
the pipe is $75 and extra costs of $15 = $90

Option 6
Blasted pipe with Dark stain, with Aluminum Ring and Black Mouthpiece
the pipe is $75 and extra costs of $15 = $90

I don't know if no band or ferrule w/ black stem was discussed. If you'd like that, write in vote.

As is pipe:

Example of what a Johs with aluminum ring and black stem (different shape):

Black stain sandblasts can be seen at, but I don't know if that's what David and Mogens meant by "Dark stain" http://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/johs/index.cfm

Can't find any pictures of his blasts with lighter stains, but use your imagination - they'd look great.

These options are a little upsetting to me. I think he should do better considering the size of the order and the fact that we are organizing everything.

What are these extra costs?

I think option 5, light stained blast, is my favorite. I'd love the pipe picture with a black stem, but my grain might look less like the one pictured (beautiful) and more nondescript like this:
Johs Smooth Bent Brandy Pipes at Smoking Pipes .com

Not that grain doesn't matter in blasts, but they are certainly very much more forgiving. What do you guys think?

I voted 1 and 5.
The beauty of the pipe comes from the "smoothness" of the round shape and I think a smooth finish is what keeps up the best with the overall style of the shape, no matter what grain.
If we end up by choosing a blasted finish, the clearer the stain the better, IMO. A dark stain would completely hide the subtleties of that pipe.

Smooth for looks, blasted for price.

Good. So Option 5 it is. What's next? Seeing how many members are actually in for the purchase? Makes sense to me.

Yup.
Time to pay up Boys!
Ryan is going to take care of that so watch out for that info.

I am gonna touch base with Mogens and ask him if we can have a few options on the ends of the pipe.

With Ferrule, Aluminum Ring and Black Mouthpiece
or
Aluminum Ring and Black Mouthpiece
or
Black Mouthpiece

Let's not get our panties in a bunch. This will just be the one small area where people can 'personalize'. I am guessing that Mogens will be okay with it but cant say for sure. I can just imagine a collective sigh of relief out there so I had to mention this now.

He said the time-line would be 6-8 weeks. Let's focus on getting that money in ($90) asap so that we can get on his schedule quicker.

This thing is happening!!!!!

NOW I get it. I couldn't imagine both a band and ferrule looking good together.

I would like just the black stem - second choice aluminum band.
