After 6+ months of piping now, and becoming a much more regular occurance than occasional novelty, I feel that I'm finally getting the hang of this pipe thing. Now that I somewhat know what I'm doing, I think I'm in a better position to appreciate the subtleties and nuances of the hobby.

I've got a few tins of some aged dunhills (from a trade with an incredibly generous botl here) and its going to be a beautiful fall weekend, so it's time to open one up and have at it.

I have no experience with any Dunhill blends other than nightcap which I enjoyed, so I will ask the pipe pros here. Which one of the following should I start smoking this weekend?

3 year matured virginia 2002?

Standard mixture mild 1999?

or 965 1999?

I look forward to any opinions you all might have

If you liked the Nightcap, possibly the 965 might be in order. A bit more umbladee than the other two I think. (Not that any of them are likely to disappoint! )

That Virginia is going to get better the longer it sits, so move it to the back of your shelf and open one of the other two. Personally, I'd second Jim's suggestion and go for the 965, but both will be good I'm sure!
