Does anyone know of a good source for prices in Cuba? I've checked out Theo Rudman's site, but it is missing some info. There are a couple of other sites that give European prices, but I'm not familiar with any that offer prices in Cuba. :w

Yup!

Went to Cuba in '99.

Those prices area around where they should be (given a little inflation/price increase).

Thanks CigarTexan.

Thanks, Jack! That's a great site :), just what I was looking for. When I first read your post I thought it said "...Click on the "Start Revolution" button..." :r.

what do you have up your sleeves bob? going somewhere?
Who? Me? I can't swing those fancy deals like some people .

Actually, I've been working in Canada lately and a cigar smoking co-worker has offered to pick up a box of my choosing at a legitimate store. He seems to know the difference and goes to Cuba about 5 times per year (lucky bastage), so I figure I'll have him pick up something not likely to be counterfeit. Of course, I plan to smoke all of these in Canada. I would never think of bringing contraband across the border  ;) :u .

. . . So that's where Freddy K's been hiding. I know it's a couple of years old, but still a good reference source. Thanks for the info.

Siglo 6 price?

Hey Folks,
Just wondering if anyone had any reliable info on the priceof a 25 box of Siglo 6's in ISOM. Slim possibility of aquaintance going over in Sept, with , dare I hope, a 2 box burden for D-Love himself?

Also interested in hearing about people's experiences with the Siglo 6, what they think about it, especialy compared to the price tag.

Have checked with the above sites, but none has the Siglo 6 price, probably due to the recent introduction of this cigar.

Cant say about the price in Havana on the Siglo VI but if it were me, personally I would opt for the Cohiba Seleccion Reserva box if given a choice (pic Robmcd posted)

Price on Siglo VI in Havana is almost identical to the Esplendidos, about $335.00. The Siglo VIs that I've had (five of them from three different boxes) have been supurb. The Cohiba Seleccion Reservas have been phenomenal (the tobacco is almost four years old now so they should be better). The price difference, however, may not be worth it though. Do what I do, get as many boxes of each as you can afford!!!!

given that you can only buy one box, the optimal strategy is to buy the most rare or most expensive box (assuming we're talking about great cigars and you have the money).

so bob, if you opt for a db of boli pcs, we're going to be really pissed. :D

I agree

If you are gong to/getting some boxes brought back from Cuba, it's apples and oranges good sense to get the smokes back which you enjoy and which you save the most on. Generally, I try to get the Cohibas and larger cigars direct, as the markup on these is sometimes about 200% on top, for dealer, distributor, and the vampiric socialist state tobacco taxes.
ANd believe, I have a "Buying in Havana for Idiots" that they get before they go. . .

To be honest, I was not planning on anything 'especiale' or 'limitada'. If I were the one going to Cuba, I would get something at the higher end of the spectrum, but in this case, I am, in fact, going the route of a boring old DB. I really don't want to push it too far this time, since the guy was nice enough to offer to bring something back for me (this is a co-worker, not a smoking or drinking buddy). Besides, he does go about 5 times per year - I may opt for something a little nicer if given the opportunity next time :).

the optimal strategy is the same... within your restricted class, buy the most expensive box. and then send me one or two (even if you do buy a db of boli pcs). ;)
