Doesn't bother me much, I never stay in smoking rooms cause they all smell like air freshner and stale cigarettes.

Westin is part of Starwood Hotels, they include Sheraton, 4 Points, St. Regis, W hotels & Le Meridien.

I think the smoking ban is only the Westin chain though

They own the place so they set the rules. I can respect that. At least it is not big brother stepping in and telling the place to ban it.

I can understand banning smoking in rooms and inside the hotel, but hopefully they won't extend this to outside the hotel. I was smoking by a pool, at night, no one else there, and security came out and told me no smoking anywhere on the grounds ( this was in Anaheim, CA). I asked how did that make sense, who is offended, the crickets? Shouldn't have bothered as the smoke nazis rule CA by now.

I feel compelled to confess that I do smoke in hotel rooms that are designated as non-smoking. Santa is going to be mad at me.
