Just wondering if anyone here ever tried a cigar that tasted so much better than any you've ever had and its kind of been your go to? I'm new to cigars and only tried a few, but I was wondering if anyone could help with recommending me something that would suit me? (I have yet to find one that i really enjoy, although a few that i had were nice)

I am really looking for something with more 'herbal' notes, a lighter cigar that is easy going. The best description would be 'being in a sauna' something that chills you out more than 'sets your throat on fire'. (beginner pov)

Since I'm new to cigars please forgive me if I am totally not getting how it works, but recommendations would be appreciated, and preferably under £20/$25

Welcome from Texas!
I like having a variety of different smokes and trying new ones. If you want recommendations you’re going to need to provide some more info about what you have smoked, what you liked and didn’t like about em.

You should follow the ‘What are you Smoking’ thread to see what people are smoking, do some research and ask question’s.

For what you're describing, Magic Toast from Alec Bradley would be my go to. Taste is really subjective, and I don't think they're as much loved as I love them, but I definitely keep a lot handy.

Welcome from Chicago.

As OneStrangeOne mentioned, this forum is a great spot to learn about cigars. The Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne tubos are a good mild cigar I have recently tried. The Nub Connecticut is a long time favorite of mine. Also, ask your local brick and mortar store to give you a mild sampler pack.

The Rocky Patel 1990 vintages do not have a Connecticut wrapper, which is usually associated with mild/mellow cigars, but I find that these are also pretty easy smoking and do not leave too big of an aftertaste (the next morning cigar taste that some enjoy).

Enjoy the journey in finding your favorite cigar

For me I have always been an infused guy Acid blue lable has always been my go to the Blondie in particular. But there are alot of great traditional cigars out there. My recommendation would be. Do as I have been look for sampler packs and try them out. Everyone's taste are different, the weather and humidity level you keep your cigars can affect the taste you perceive as well. There are lots of great threads here. Take a trip around and see what everyone else is saying about the cigars they like.

Welcome from South Carolina!

As others have mentioned grab a sampler at your local B&M, or order one online at one of the vendors. From what you have described my go to would be Drew Estate Undercrown Shade followed by Ave Maria Immaculata. Otherwise my go to cigars are Montecristo Classics and Diesel Whiskey Row.

Considering where your registration shows you located, I'd say give Fonseca a try. Can't go into too much detail in open forum, but that's one we don't get here in the USA that should meet your criteria.

First things first, are you inhaling?
If yes, stop.
When you get some more experience you can try a retrohale. I don't, it wrecks my sinuses.

As far as good mellow sticks, I find the Arturo Fuente Hemingways to be pretty mellow.

Padron "thousand" series are good to.

My go to cigars lately have been Padron maduro delicias, tatuaje havana vi lanceros, and oliva v lanceros.

Interestingly, I found the box of the padron delicias at the bottom of one of my humidors that's been sitting there for about 10 years. It's been one of the smoothest cigars I've smoked thus far, and it still has all the chocolate/coffee flavors. I need to set aside more boxes of these.

Most all Padrons age well, and not all NC's necessarily do. The 1000's series are another good bet; fairly reasonably priced (compared to the various Anniversary Padrons), good cigars to start with, but great cigars with some significant age on 'em.

Totally agree with the Padron 1000s series. Some other NCs that I’ve found to age well are the dpg black and blue labels. I do like the pepin spice blasts on fresh ones. But with significant time they mellow out with less spice and bitter flavors. They still have the nice woodsy tobacco flavors. They do lose some complexity, but this doesn’t bother me as I am not completely focused on the cigars when I smoke them.

I’ll keep y’all posted on how other NCs with age smoke as I rummage through my coolidors.
