What about the club? IS it worth the extra few bucks for this?

The food is ultra expensive....I looked into twice when going to Nassau and opted for The Sandals both times...great food, free liquor, the trip will cost you 1/2 as much. :2

I hope I can give you some insight into this, brotha. I was down there 2 summers ago, and stayed at the Atlantis resort. We booked the trip not too long in advance, so we didn't have a room with a view (the beach side hotel), but it didn't matter. We payed less, and didn't care 'cause we were never in the room to see the view! The casino itself is pretty big, and everything is within walking distance. True, the money gets veeeeeeeeeeery pricey, but you're on Paradise Island, and everything there can can be accessed by foot, as well. The resort has so many things to do, that if you stay for less than a week, you don't have to leave the hotel and won't ending up doing things twice.

Personally, I would recommend staying there for the experience. You'll end up staying up all night in the casino like I did, and the walk to the room (or lack thereof) makes the trip worth it. You'll be staying in luxury, so soak it up and spend the $$ if you have it! I think it's worth every red cent. There are so many things to do outside the casino that everyone can enjoy (from the shark-tank pool to the parasailing, to jet skis), I would definitely go back.

if you look at Atlantis compared to Aruba or Punta Cana it is wayyy overpriced.

We are leaning towards this just for the experience of staying at Cove and sitting my ass in Cain. lol
We are only doing 5 nights total so it will be a short trip. They have the Club level option, which means free breakfast, free hors dourves throughout the day, and free drinks from 5-7 with Sushi, and other finger foods. This is roughly 75/day extra each. it also puts us in a higher level room, internet access with a private desk, librabry etc etc etc everything in the club.

We will definitley be doing the dolphin swim, did any of you do this?

I did it both times we went to Nassau, you definitely want to experience this at least once. The time in the water is fairly short, but it is amazing.

I did this, as well. It really depends on which place you go two, if I'm not mistaken, there's more than a few. You can pay to stand on a ledge, or actually swim with them. Either way, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it's definitely worth it!:2

The hotel offers it right there. You can swim with them in shallow water, or deep. In the deep they push you on a boogie board by your feet!

I don't know what your time schedule is but IMO it's more than a few bucks than other options. There was a thread awhile back about websites where people rent their condos both timeshare and just privately owned condos which is siginificantly cheaper.

We stayed in a condo on Paradise island maybe 20 min walk from the Atlantis. We usually ate in a little waterfront bar on the channel side called Hurrican Hole. More of a local/regular hang out but we loved it. Great staff and food. There are also a lot of nice little local places to eat if you aren't looking for fine dining.

All of the beaches are public so we would walk over and use the beach by the Atlantis. We bought tickets for the waterslide and the aquarium and really enjoyed both.

So it really depends on the type of trip you are looking for and how important cost is for you. If you are someone who really enjoys the trappings of staying in a big hotel (think a vegas casino) that is Luxury lobby, resteraunt, casino, amenities with pretty standard rooms and the cash isn't really an issue by all means you will enjoy the Atlantis. Particularly if it is a choice between another big hotel down the street and the Atlantis the Atlantis is going to be more interesting.

If you like/prefer something a little quiter, like to get out of the hotel complex and check out more of the local flavor but still have access to purchase all of the beach amenities at a much lower overall cost I would look into the condos option. Just my 2 cents.

I usually do this type of traveling. But we want the glitzand the glamour. Thats why we arent staying at the regular Atlantis resort. The Cove is exclusive. The beach, pool, and hotel is only for guests of the Cove. it is a very exclusive property. Shaq and fam were there recently, John Force and daughters, and multiple NFL stars.
I know it is one of the priciest places in the caribbean, but we have the money for it right now, and are staying in a run of the mill place in the fall for Vegas.......

I know it is one of the priciest places in the caribbean, but we have the money for it right now, and are staying in a run of the mill place in the fall for Vegas.......

Just make sure you're going for the atmosphere, and not just to see celebrities! If you wanna do that, just go to The Ivy in L.A.!
