Tried a CAO Criollo Pampa for the first time today, and I was very impressed! It started off with a mildish coffee flavor with a creamy, sweet aftertaste. After a little time it started picking up some pepper and the flavor got stronger. The aftertaste started out bitter (but not too much) and then would fade to a slightly sweet nutty flavor. It was less peppery than a Piranha with more complex flavor. Two thumbs up!

Seems that people either love these or hate them. Personally, I'm in the former group.

I have heard you should let these sit for at least a month to smooth out the rough edges (I was told this before buying, so I've never smoked one "out of the box").

havent had any of the cao criollo or the torano silver (criollo wrapper) since they came out. avoided both because they had a real gnarly metallic sort of taste... maybe they have lost their 'young' edge.

I'm confused, how do you know they have a metallic taste if you've never had one
