Do you all ask how long the cigar has been sitting on the shelf at your B&M when you buy? Does this count toward resting or aging time? Might I be able to pick up some mediocre sticks thats have been sitting in a shop for maybe a year or more and have the maturation process already significantly initiated? Pro's/Con's?
The sticks will age as long as there in a humidity controlled environment with a reasonable rh, however most b&m have higher rh than you would at home 70-80% in some cases to allow for large air intake when the door is opening all day. So you need to rest at home to drop to your preferred humidity, usually in your humi for a month or so.
