Being new to cigars the things I would pinpoint when rating a cigar would be,
Appearance, Draw, Flavor, Burn, Enjoyment, and, Price.
When i smoke i like to have somthing to drink during the first half or so
to clean my pallet after every draw to get a "propper" tasting of the cigar.
Yesterday, Scientific American posted an online article stating that "An analysis of top-grossing movies from the last decade shows that films with smoking make less money." It also reports that the Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education (CTCRE) at the University of California...
I left a bad rating by accident for Jazzmunkey. I don't even know how I pulled it off. I just don't want Kevin waltzing around with a less than perfect rating. If a mod could PLEASE fix I would appreciate it.
I picked this up because of the ratings it got in Cigar Aficionado and because of the low price. The cigar is beautifully wrapped with a nice sheen...

So I see all these cigars advertised as 90-rated, 92-rated, etc. They are all quality cigars and I am always intrigued to try them based on this "rating."
My question is, are the high-end rare cigars ever rated? When I think of a DPG Cuban Classic gettnig a 92 rating and an Oliva Serie V...
My Cigar rating system:
5 = I will buy more and rave about them to others.
4 =Memorable, will smoke them again
3= Good tasting, but I don't care If I don't smoke another one.
2= Only if they are free or when I am drunk
1= Why do they even sell them??? I won't smoke them even if they are free
With the CA ratings recently past I've been talking with a lot of people about magazine ratings, online ratings, reviews, etc. All of the systems have pros and cons (well not all of them - some just suck) but I was curious what everyone else thinks.
Looking at the factors below, what order...
After using the app more (which I love) have a few more feature requests. I'll submit each with a separate subject so it makes it easier if others search the forums or have comments on a feature.
In another post I mentioned that I think an avg rating for the cigar (across sizes) would be nice...
I've been smoking cigars regularly for about 6 years now and I finally feel my palate has developed enough to rate my own cigars.
I am curious as to how CA can rate cigars so highly, yet their description makes the stick sound horrible. Things like "papery, damp finish" and "acidic, tannic, and...
I remember hearing about this a while ago. Just food for thought.
"Smoking in youth-rated movies has not declined despite a pledge two years ago by Hollywood studios to encourage producers to show less "gratuitous smoking," according to an anti-smoking group.
The American Medical...

Say, what's the deal with those cigar ratings you read in magazines like *Cigar Aficionado*, *Smoke* and others? How do their "judges" determine whether a cigar is a "70" or a "90?" As subjective as rating cigars may be, especially when it comes to taste, they all use...
I wanted to create this thread for 2 reasons. 1 give a deeper understanding of my rating system and 2. Have a thread I can put a link to in my signature so those who don't know can check it out if they care (which most won't buy there might be a few)
I do a simple impression of the cigar what I...
Well, I have accepted the fact that I will never have the ability (or maybe the desire) to review cigars like the Klugs, Poker, Silverfox, Pnoon, Chibnkr, Vstromark, Raisins etc etc of the world. I wish I could but I have to face the facts and just admit that I'm not capable of it. Trying to...
