I'm in the market for a large pipe rack; something to hold around 50 pipes. There is a seller on the bay who sells handmade racks but the craftsmanship is not impressive. Two cousins doesn't seem to have anything in the size I am looking for. Best I have found is a 36 piece rack from Iwan Ries...

My pipes have been getting out of control so, for a long time, I've been meaning to make a new pipe rack. I finally got it finished. On a side note, I've had lots of trouble uploading photos. Apologies if this doesn't upload correctly. I can't figure out what the problem is; well here goes...

I have a pipe rack I made a few years ago that I would trade for a few tins of tobacco. There is nothing wrong with it except it doesn't hold enough pipes and I had to build a bigger one. Here is the LINK to the 3 year old thread where it can be viewed. (Post #8 shows it finished) Tins I could...

so tonight while smoking a Cigar I figured I'd start on a pipe rack. Being new/er to pipes still I only have 3 but it's something I've been wanting to get. Problem is I have a hard time spending that much for those nicer racks, most seem out of stock when looking, and I don't place many pipe...

eBay description: Lovely old carved wooden pipe rack, which I think may be Black Forest. Along the centre it has 3 coats of arms. Measures 7" wide & stands 6 1/2" high. The pipes include a covered pipe with Innsbruck carved on the front. It is shaped like a boot supporting the bowl so that...

Hello all ya'all pipe folks.... I mostly hang out in the cigar forums, specifically the retailer section as I build custom humidors.... I have been nudged more than a couple times to build a pipe rack or two... but, I need to say that I have never smoked a pipe nor do I know what would be...

I started looking for a decent small pipe rack for my pipe(s). I saw them from $30 and up... I thought to myself "thats crazy! I can build that for less." And so I did. This is my first go at it and it turned out pretty good. Used no nails, holds 4 pipes, sturdy. I can/was going to use oak...

Well, it seems that I outgrew my 6 pipe rack so I was at smokingpipes store today and figured I better get a new one. While I was there I figured I should get a few tins of Escudo. New rack and tobacco. Here she is loaded. BTW Yes that is all Escudo! Can you tell I like it? :tu

Some of you may have seen these pics on another forum but for those that have not ... We struggle in the UK to find large pipe racks as most will only hold around 5 or 6 and while this might be ok for some I need something a little larger :D So I made one which is stained Silver Birch and...

I am new to pipe smoking and am really enjoying it. I only have a corn cob and a savinelli so far but, I thought it would be fun to make a rack. I made a rack for my desk out of some scrap mdf. Has anyone made their own racks. I would love to see them if so.

...and I can't for the life of me decide upon what to take with me today. Maybe I will finally put a dent in that Mac B Plumcake, or maybe the Dark Twist. Either way, I won't take my uniflake or LBF with me. I am trying to ration those until I can make another large buy.:-|

I have a friend that does construction jobs for me occasionally. He used to own a custom cabinetry shop. I asked him if he could make a nice pipe rack for me, for 36 pipes, and showed him some examples of the interwebs. His jaw dropped at the quality vs price. He said he could make much...

Well, I'm a pretty good carpenter and I like working with wood and I have some of the tools for making such things. Mostly, I have just been thinking about making a pipe rack. The one thing that irritates me about these pipe racks is how overpriced they are compared to the quality you get when...

What's to keep me from smoking some of the old school rope/twist tobacco marketed as chew? It is rather dry, most of the brands don't seem overly sticky, and I hear they are long leaf burleys that are braided/twisted for aging. Any one here tried this?:poke:

I'm going to run a recurring contest of sorts. For the next few weeks, once a week, I'll ask a question and the first person to post the correct answer will receive two pipes. The pipes may be new or they may be estate pipes, bent or straight. All I'll guarantee is that they will be genuine...

Teak 2 Pipe Wave Rack @ Iwan Ries & Co. Down the left hand side, there appears to be a line from two separate pieces of wood, but otherwise this thing looks to be carved from a big block. Or no?
