Am I missing a setting to save copies of sent private messages? A couple of times I've sent messages and wanted to refer back to them but found my sent items empty. Has this feature been disabled?

I've had a couple people try to PM me recently and noted they get an error that says I don't receive PM's. I checked under options and everythings looks fine. Receive PM's is checked, receive only from mods and admins is NOT checked, etc. I only have 8 PM's in all folders combined. ??????
