I tried my hand at storing some baccy in mason jars. One of the questions I have is should I always try and vacuum seal them using the boiling water technique or, can I just screw the lids on when I dump the baccy in them. Thanks!

Ok I'm in a huge pinch at the moment. I am totally out of humi space and have about 20 cigars that are coming out of the fridge and freezer tom. I am wondering if anyone has used a mason jar as a humi for a short time? Thanks for the replies.

I tried washing the jars in the dishwasher and hand washing the lids but there is still quite a bit of smell in there from the tobacco that I used to have in them. I want to store some others with out them being tainted, what can i do to get the old smell out. Cheers
