Hello BOTL's! This is a humidor that was in the works for someone who ended up not having the $$. Hey, it happens, no big deal.
Instead of finishing off to original specs, I've decided to sell it and let the new customer decide how to finish it off. Originally I was going to put a 1/4" lacewood...
Well, I wrapped up this sweetheart this morning.... just in time for the big games today!!! This cherry & mahogany humidor is going to Ohio and I hope dj1340 enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it.....

I am working on this humidor this week as well. As it stands, it is set for a glass top.... but, I may change my mind on that.... she's coming together rather nicely. I need to make the bottom out of spanish cedar and then glue it all together.....

Let me preface this post by saying that I have been lurking on this site for the last couple weeks trying to soak up the most information I can. I have tried the search function but just not finding the right info. I am going to be building a new humidor and need to address the Honduran Mahogany...
Mindflux is coming up wed from texas to hang out for a few days. We will be going to Mahogany right from the airport on wednesday, and then again on saturday most likely.

Is mahogany just as good for a humi as cedar?
Is the only real difference the smell of cedar, or is one better or worse for any other reason?
Is there any particular type of mahogany that should be used (like avoiding aromatic cedar...)?
