I am a cigar smoker, but love all facets of the hobby. Pipes have always been interesting, but I never had one. I was with the wife at a antique swap meet and came upon this tent with alot of older items. They had quite a few older pipes, probably 10 total. I looked them over, not really knowing...

I bought a 1947 Kaywoodie Silhouette 12b pipe a few months back and smoked with it. I honestly didn't really enjoy it as it had what I can only describe as a "metallic bite." I really appreciate having this pipe in my collection and would like to smoke with it. Is there a certain type of tobacco...

Got my hands on a new to me 70'sish Kaywoodie Ruff-tone and was wondering if the drawl should be restricted feeling at all? the stinger looks like someone tried to cut it off at one time with a pair of wirecutters....maybe that would have pinched the airway? should i just cut off the stinger?

Is there anyway to tighten up the metal insert? It's got the threaded stringer (?). I have a pipe that when it's tight is canted at an angle because to get it tight you have to turn it slightly past center for the stem. How are these inserted into the stem? Is there a way to pull it out and...

I just thought I'd point this out to fans of unique, older Kaywoodies. Smokingpipes.com just posted an estate Kaywoodie bulldog which was originally produced sans stinger. I just thought this might be a good pipe for someone who collects Kaywoodies or would like a Kaywoodie with a more open...

I recently acquired a Kaywoodie 500 pipe from an eBay auction and there is a problem with the stem. It's a screw-in stem. When I screw it in all the way, it does not sit straight. The mouthpiece is not perfectly horizontal and is off by about 30 or so degrees. Is there a fix to this problem...

I purchased a Supergrain Kaywoodie off of ebay about a year ago. It has 4 holes in the little round ball on the (stinger)??. It has a fairly large bowl and is a straight pipe. Can anyone tell me anything about age or value. It is in remarkable shape.

I have a few Kaywoodies with the drinkless attachment. If anyone else has any, I am wondering what your thoughts are on the "stinger." Does it stay or does it go, feel free to put on The Clash at this point. I've heard some people say removing them depreciates their value, which I can...

I thought kaywoodies were not supposed to be very good. I just picked one up in a group of other pipes. This one from what I have read on the net was made in the 1930's. This thing smokes wonderful, and the stinger is still intact. I had stayed away from kaywoodies for years cause I thought they...

I picked up some estate pipes online, and one of them is a Kaywoodie with the drinkless system. I was cleaning it up, and when I had gotten it to the point where I wanted to test the draw I couldn't get a thing out of it. I tested the stem/bowl and it's perfectly clear. I can get a pipe...

Kaywoodie Vintage Tobacco Smoking Pipe Chinrester Rare - eBay (item 230339033295 end time Oct-20-09 10:29:24 PDT) Is that the correct stem for that pipe? It looks like some kind of Frankenstein that someone put together.

I am considering picking one of these up (shape stamp is 73s) and i was wondering if anyone had a positive or negative experience with them and how they smoke?

Does anyone have a link to a site that will allow you to ball park date kaywoodies? I have one now from the late 40s early 50s and would love to pick up more of the vintage woodies. I know the clover changed over the years. I would love to find a site or resource so that I have a decent idea...

I've been interested in getting a new pipe for a while. The Dr. Grabow my dad gave me is nice, but I want another one that isn't too expensive. So while looking around I took interest in Kaywoodie. I saw they have a 'drinkless' system to filter out flakes and tar. My questions are does it...

Ever date a prince ? ..... How 'bout a Kaywoodie Prince ? I received this beauty from my Pipe Santa, and hoped someone could help me out with dating it. The closest I've been able to come, is somewhere from the 1930's to the 1970's. Showed this to Chad at the last KC...
