I have a digital hygrometer and it has been exposed to salt on occasions. I recently read in the manual you are not supposed to do this. How much does salt permantly effect a digital hygrometer that is capable of being calibrated?

Any members have an old hygrometer laying around I could buy? I would much rather support a members cigar fund, then pay someone on ebay or amazon.

Anybody have anything good or bad to say about the hygrometer sold by heartfelt industries? I am going to order some beads and I need a hygrometer...I though why not order both at the same time? They have two kinds: a rectangular one and a more round one and I think they are both around $20.

All my hygrometers are out of whack. I've tried the salt test, and I can never seem to get it right. You guys think that if I buy a 65% Bodeva pack and throw it in a tupperware will all the hygrometers I can determine how much each is off? If so, how long do you think I should leave them in there?

Hey all. I've ordered two digital hygros. When they arrive is there any problem putting them both in the same plastic bag with the moistened salt for calibration? Or should I put them each in their own bag with their own moistened salt for calibration?

A while back I got myself a Xikar digital hygrometer and some heartfelt beads for a small 25 count desktop humi. This was before I knew you could calibrate these things, and I must have gotten really lucky because I popped this thing in my humi with my beads and it's read 65% on the dot ever...

I see alot of postings on here of cigar people posting about going to Wmart or where ever and buying 6-10 dollar hygrometers that seem to be a crap shoot as to thier accuracy. Some 10-15% off when tested. These same people would think nothing of trusting thier sticks sometimes a few or boxes...

My analog hygrometer is way out of wack and had to already re-align it twice after salt tests. My humidor said it was at 70% for a good two to three weeks. Checked the humidifiers and they were dry. Just refilled with 70/70 and the humidity says its 90% now... Hmm.. It was either good humidity...

put my three digital hygrometers in the ziplock with the wet salt and after 6 hours they read 72, 65, and 63. Did I do something wrong or are the two really that off? Dnt think they're adjustable.
