I just aquired a Savinelli Trevi 607 and I noticed that it came with several balsa filters. Are these a must in the pipe or can I smoke it without. There is no airflow restriction with them in but I was just wondering if I need them all the time. The pipe looks great and I can't wait to try it.

I own a two Savinelli pipes with room the US-standard 6mm filters. Which I don't use--same with the plastic "conversion" tube. But I'm considering a 9mm filter Sav, and their website (http://www.savinelli.it/eng/consigli.htm) gives this quote: Important: the Savinelli pipes which use the...

I have three MM cobs that were designed to use paper filters. I've smoked each pipe with Medico filters and they worked just fine but I don't find them worthwhile enough to purchase. They get damp and grungy and I ended up replacing them every bowl or two. I use pipe cleaners after each...

For those of you that use a balsa filter in your Savinelli, how soon after you smoke a bowl do you remove the filter so that you can run the pipe cleaner through? Thanks.

I am looking for a pipe in the $50.00 or so range. There are some Savinelli in that range that have a filter. I understand that the filter can be removed. Does the removal of the filter make the pipe any less of a good smoker?

I have an ebay special coming in this week that needs some work. I want to smoke it with, and without the balsa filter to see which I like better. How will I know which size filter it takes, (6mm.or 9mm) if it does not have one installed for me to measure? It is a Savinelli 803 KS. Thanks.

I just bought a Dr. Grabow but didn't realize it has a filter before I clicked Confirm. :scared: Can I take it out? Will that effect my smoking adversely? Does anyone leave them in? My other two pipes don't have filters so I'm used to smoking without one. Here is the pipe... Dr. Grabow...

Hello all, I recently picked up another cob and was smoking it with the filter it came with. It seemed like it was a much dryer smoke and allowed me to puff a bit faster (which I always tend to do) without the bite. I know alot of pipe smokers believe it cuts back the flavors and such but so...

Greetings to everyone! May I please request any advice available for the purchase of 9mm Peterson P-Lip stems for the 312 and 307 XL System Pipes, and Rosslare XL15? My current Rosslare is a fishtail with 9mm filter which works fantastic, however I would enjoy trying a P-Lip with the filter...

All my pipes are filter pipes, but I smoke them with no filter, as I'm a nicotine addict. However, they tend to burn very hot, and I believe it is because I use no filter... I know that some brands, like Savinelli, have a little piece to replace the filter space. What advices do you have...
