I recently bought a used ST Dupont Gatsby and am having some trouble. I replaced the fuel and flint but sometimes the lighter will light on the first strike, other times it may take 10-15 strikes. Does anyone with experience have any suggestions as to what might be the root of this problem?

I bought a St Dupont Ligne 2 Lighter in Silver a few days ago and I just noticed it rattles on the inside even if I only shake it slightly.
Is this normal or should I exchange it for a new one?
Many thanks in advance,

I'm having a problem with my year old Maxijet and before I send it in for repair, I was hoping someone had some advice on how to resolve it.
When I go to use the lighter, I have to click it 10-15 times to get it to light. There is spark, but no fuel hiss right off the bat.
If I hold down...

This is a question I ask about things a lot. When I see something that a fair bit more expensive then some other thinks out there I wonder.
So seeing as that even the least expensive ST Dupont lighters go for 100+ I have to wonder, are they worth it? Its a fairly simple tool, a tank, igniter...
I recently purchased a St dupont maxijet lighter.
It is about to run out of fluid and I have been reading alot about how to refill this particular lighter .
My questions are....
1) I have read that I have to use St dupont butane fluid only. True? Or do I just have to use a ultra high quality...
I'm not exactly the luckiest guy on the planet. Stop lights turn red as they sense my presence, and I've never won anything in my life. Today, my luck changed. I went to a local cigar bar, ordered a glass of malbec, and lit a Fuente Hemingway Signature. I was one of the only patrons there since...
My GF recently bought me a dupont Maxijet cutter. I love the look and feel of it, but I'm not too thrilled about it's cutting performance. It often leaves me with a small peak in the center of the cut. Not always, and I think cutting slower can lessen the issue. I'd like to ask if any brothers...
I don't know who thought the way that Dupont recommends filling these things was a good idea but after having my lighter refuse to refill completely and wasting a tube of the "gold refills" I couldn't bear to buy more of those things. Did a google search and saw the video for Robusto.com. So $20...
Long time lurker, first time poster!
Had a quick one I hope you guys could help with. I picked up an X-Tend not too long ago and absolutely love it. There is only one thing that bugs me. It almost never ever lights on the first click, but always the second.
The first click will seem too...
I'm not sure how many people ask this, so I hope I'm not being repetitive.

Hey guys as some of you guys might know I am new to this hobby and I am almost set... I just need a cool lighter!
I am laying my eyes on a Xtend from Dupont... Read a few post about it and even "youtubed" the lighter =)
I have read somewhere that some members were getting the "Made in China"...
