I have a digital hygrometer and it has been exposed to salt on occasions. I recently read in the manual you are not supposed to do this. How much does salt permantly effect a digital hygrometer that is capable of being calibrated?

Hello all, Can I just use the calibrate button or do I have to do the salt test for correct calibration????

I would like to calibrate my cigar shaped digital hygrometer. I am sure lots of you have this exact piece. It has 4 buttons: (1) Max; (2) Min; (3) C/F; and (4) Reset. Reset clears all the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity information; does the reset button calibrate the computer too?
