Good Evening Folks. Just had some fun with my camera while smoking a bowl of H&H Anniversary Kake. I made this specific purchase last order due to the some of the comments and praise I read on the forums.. I can see why. This stuff is excellent. The Smell, Working texture, pack, light...

This is going to sound really dumb but here goes. This is all pretty new to me so please be kind. Is there such a thing as a serious pipe smoker who smokes nothing but corn cob pipes? (I've been smoking a pipe for a few months now and I really love it. I've been thru the whole gambit of tobacco...

Good afternoon fellow puffers and pipers, I've been doing a bit of research on cobs and can't decide which one I should get. I already have two MM Legends but have come to the conclusion that the bowl just isn't big enough. They only seem good for first trying out a tobacco or a short smoke...

I'm on a vacation trip and we stopped here in a little town called Beaver, Utah to spend the nite at a hotel. I had a nice relaxing smoke from my MM cob (spool shaped) after a 550 mile day. Tomorrow it's off accross the rest of Utah and then accross Colorado as we head east to our destination in...

What's your favorite MM Cob? Mine's the bent Country Gentleman.

My Diplomat is developing a crack starting on the top of the rim and then running down the side of the cob. I don't think I've smoked it a dozen times. What should I do?

I went on a fishing and golfing trip with my brothers this weekend. I bought a couple of corn cob pipes to take along figuring the smoke would be OK. I didn't want to lose any of my briars (I lose a lot of things including my dignity on these trips ...) Anyway, I had some of the best smokes...

...this is the third time since I started smoking corncob pipes that I've had a burning tobacco fragment fly up through the pipe and into my mouth. This last one landed right on my tonsils. Now I fully understand why MM made all their pipes to be filter pipes...this frickin hurts! SO, any...

Yes, I picked up a Missouri Meerschaum pipe today from the drugstore. Paid all of $6 for it. This thing kicks my Lucienne's ass. I'm starting to think those Lucienne pipes aren't even briar....they call them wooden on their site. Either way, it sucked. This thing has just been gravy...of...

I bought a MM pipe from a drug store and I was just wondering if it's supposed to look so rough on the inside. Also the stem is kinda splintered at the end inside and their is some build-up by the stem inside which I assume is wax, correct?

Purchased a bent Abbey briar from a shop in NH. Should this be broke in the same as a cob or is it different? Dave Just noticed a tiny tag made in China (hope not made from lead)

Okay, I must confess that as a newbie (smoked three bowls in the past week since I started) I really wanted to start out smoking a cool looking briar pipe. You know, dark wood, slightly rough looking, big and manly...but most of the threads really push the Cob as the way to go for a noob. To...

I have a cob that lately just tastes awful to smoke. It's been my favorite so far. Lately though it just smells kinda sour and if I smoke it it ruins the flavor of the tobacco. I smoke aromatics out of it only and am still kinda new so I smoke it kinda hot at times. The sides are a bit...

Yesterday my wife and I spent a couple of hours searching through one of a handful of antique stores downtown. That's always a fun time whether or not I find something I want but that day I was lucky! I found an old cob pipe for $6 that is in fairly decent shape - the bit is fairly scarred and...

    1) Do you need to stick with a "family" of tobaccos with each cob - like you would with briar? Or can you jump between say Englishes, Vapers, and aromatics with abandon? 2) What do you do to the bowl post smoke? Wipe it out so it won't build cake? Can it even build cake? Thanks.

Okay, so as i understand it, for a briar pipe you want to wait at least a day before smoking it again, because you want it to dry out. You have to break it in and build up the cake, because the cake is what absorbs the moisture, and gives you that nice cool/dry smoke. So if the cake is what...

Well I have been trying to get a COB wide cigar night up and running and finally it is going to happen. Everyone keep your fingers crossed all goes well. I wasn't sure if this was the right place but I think it is. I just wanted a place to be able post pics of the night. If all goes well it...

Just got a missouri meershaum corn cob to try different blends in. Was wondering if cake build up matters in these or not. Should the bowl be cleaned before trying a different blend?

Hey all, I'm a newbie to pipes and recently tried my first bowl in a new cob I purchased and I'm thinking I did something wrong. I've read there is no break in period for a cob but is the first bowl usually not great? I was getting some weird flavors right off the bat and thinking maybe it...
