Greetings BOTL! I so wish I had a picture for this issue. So I haven't had any problems with Beetles or any other type of bug. Humidor is fine...the only fight is humidity in an ultra dry climate. However, I just bought a few boxes...they came in the mail the same day I got back in town. I...

Today I decided to start to organize my cigars as I moved them into a new cooler from my wine cooler. I went up stairs to my spare bedroom and grabbed a couple empty boxes with the thought of using them to hold some of my singles. Well, I opened a Partagas Shorts box that has been empty for...

Just pulled these from the freezer; loaded them in on Tue without paying any attention to them. About 60% are riddled with holes. ERDM PC 2/10. Cigar dust all over em. Your thoughts on Cuba freezing and if I should report to my vendor? Thanks,

Please excuse me if this has already been asked but I searched around and could not find the answer. What is the life span of the egg? I have a number cigars that are a few years old and I am curious as to what point is the cigar beetle egg is no longer able to develop/hatch? If the live...

I pulled out one of my sticks last night and saw a small circular hole in the wrapper, the hole didn't penetrate into the cigar it was only on the surface. I went into panic mode and quickly threw all my cigars into a ziplock bag and stuck it into the refrigerator overnight and put them in the...

I've seen more threads on here about the precautions Puffers take to avoid beetles, but I haven't see any discussion about how many have had an infestation? I ask because i've never taken any special precautions, haven't frozen sticks, and knock on wood, I've never had an issue. I understand...

Ill pet him and hug him and call him George. :D Seriously though, I received a Padilla sampler pack today and it had alot of dust in the plastic wrap they wrap around the 5 packs. After a full inspecton I noticed one of the cigars had a nice sized hole in the head and I could see a yellowish...

I ran across this article & thought some might be interested in it. An excerpt.... To my knowledge, problems with this bug are rare in cheap cigars. Nor are cigarettes affected, as they were years ago. Apparently, today's usage of chemicals in...

Found my first beetle hole recently. Was in a premium Nicaraguan that I'd received a couple of months earlier. Luckily it was in my small humi with my soon-to-be-smoked rotation of only about 2 dozen smokes. Now I don't know if the beetle ate it's way out in my humi or if I just missed the hole...

I have been doing a lot of reading on this subject but still have a question. How long can beetle lava (sp) remain dormant? Can sticks that are 15 yrs old, still hatch eggs ? I can't imagine they live for ever ????

This cigar is an Ashton VSG and I got in from Cigarking.com. I really can't tell if it's a beetle or not. by the way no poop is coming out of the bottom of the cigar. I'd appreciate your opinions.

I decided to dig to the bottom of the humidor tonight to pick out a smoke I forgot about, I pull out a La Estralla Cubana and noticed a hole exactly like Ive seen on the forums in pictures and there was a cigar dust at the bottom of the cellophane inside. I freaked out and inspected every single...

I have read some about beetle infestation in cigars, ruining whole humidor collections. How common are these and what should I look for. Many thanks.

When you freeze your sticks and the eggs/larvae/beetles die, don't you end up smoking them in the end? I know the main purpose is to stop them from destroying your stash, but, isn't it a little weird knowing you're maybe smoking dead insects? Does it add to the flavor?:pound:

I just sent this message to CigarBid. For what it's worth, these guys have slowly won more of my business. I used to give them a lot of crap here before but they take care of me pretty well. I've never had a beetle problem before so I'm glad I caught this early but it's going to be tough...

Most of us have heard of Lasioderma serricorne, the dread tobacco beetle. We've read threads about its habits, seen pictures of the damage it can do. Maybe we've looked it up in Wikipedia or some other online sources. Some of us who are old enough to remember books might have even searched...

Ok, was just looking at my humidor and noticed a cigar with the tell tell signs of a beetle, two small pin wholes towards the end. So took all my cigars out, luckily I just got in to this hobby and only have about 25 cigars. Checked them all over and it looks like that may have been the only...

Ate a hole right through an AB Tempus. At least the bast*** didn't get both of them. Got the whole collection in the freezer, the decontamination proccess has begun. Guess I've been pretty lucky. Haven't had to experience this in the ten or so years of my cigar loving life. It's just so...
