bpegler Just remember that if there's a LCdH near your international travel destination, that's the place to go. I imagine that otherwise we'll be discussing fakes quite a bit.

Even in Cuba, the vast majority of cigars sold outside of a LCdH are fakes.

Ams417 Maybe, I don't think it's going to be a big deal really. I'll report some prices from Mexico when I go in a few weeks. There is an LCDH and a couple independent cigar store in Puerto Vallarta. Also a Mexican cigar factory.

csk415 I do not buy cc but do wonder how this will effect prices for those that travel outside of the US? Seems like the demand is about to increase for both legit and non legit reasons.

Couple of Forum Questions on Cubans and Forum Etiquette.

I anticipate we will probably see more discussion of purchasing Cuban cigars while traveling internationally now that it is expressly legal for US Citizens to buy and consume Cuban cigars in this way. We will also allow discussion of importing cigars for personal use when traveling home from other countries.

We have not allowed, and will continue to disallow, any discussion of how to acquire Cuban cigars illegally. None of our current rules need to be changed to accommodate the latest executive order.

curmudgeonista Forum rules about CC's are in place to protect the forum and remain as they were. It's not open for debate.

TCstr8 Forum rules are designed to prevent discussion on illegal practices (Americans purchasing CCs online), nothing the Obama did has anything to do with allowing that.

Tabloid Snapper IMHO maybe the time has come to loosen up the Forum Rules as our POTUS has loosened up the restriction on CC being brough back into the USA, from places sell CC.

I honestly thought about this before posting my thoughts.

Champagne InHand Thanks for the feedback. I live very close to the Canadian border. Cigars are still very pricy up there so no reason to be bring much across the border anyhow. I just was curious. Thanks so much for clarifications.

curmudgeonista No reason I can see for a change of policy. If you want to know "where to buy" when traveling overseas that should be okay, and pretty much always has been... as long as there are no links posted to a shop that also sells online. But info on online purchasing is still a big no-no. When the noobs ask how to get Cubans, the answer is still the same; most anywhere outside the USA. BUT, you can bring 'em back with you legally now!

UBC03 I haven't. It's still illegal to buy or sell ccs IN the US. We've always had look what I bought in Canada, Mexico etc. My feeling is there will be allot more expensive "are these fakes" since people can bring more into the country. I don't see why it would change things until you can legally buy them here.

But like I said there's been no update yet
