Nope could not smoke anywhere. I understand everything was set before the ban went into effect.

It was definitely interesting how the smoking went. The first night party, you couldn't smoke in the room, but you could smoke in the hall outside. Then, the Altadis party, which was supposed to be outside, you could smoke in the room, but not the same exact hall outside the room.

You could smoke in the convention room, but not in the hallway until you got to the casino floor.

We spent alot of time sitting at the Circle Bar in the Venitian smoking with everyone from Cigar Dave to Avo, Pete Johnson, Don Pepin, Heather Phillips, etc...

Ashton's dinner at Postorio was a private event and we smoked our butts off in the restarant and bar.

We were also allowed to smoke at Camacho's party in the V Bar.

As for the CAO party, a group of us took over a cabana poolside. We smoked, drank and enjoyed Skinard -- up to the point where they cut-off Free Bird in mid song.

A group of us sat at the penny slots machine drinking free drinks and smoking cigars for a few hours -- spending a few bucks on the slots in exchange.

Yeah it boggles the mind.

I don't think we were even supposed to smoke in the hallway the first night, judging by the hotel staff giving us anxious looks from a distance. But we had the benefit of numbers and surprise. I don't they realized we were smoking out there until there were just too many people to deal with. Faced with the prospects of ejecting us all and just looking the other way, they opted to look the other way that night.
