Looking for suggestions

I've finally tried some different pipe tobaccos.

Sutliff Great Outdoors: nasty... it has a strange cloying smell/flavour that is perfumish and really turned me off.

CAO Eileen's Dream: Neither good nor bad. I suspect I'm not a fan of flavoured pipe tobacco.

Davidoff Flake Medallions: I love it! Was my favorite until I tried my next tin below.

Erinmore Flake: The best pipe tobacco I've smoked so far. I particularly like it when I'm working on projects, as I can stick the pipe in my shirt pocket, and pull it out when I need a few minutes to puff and think about what I'm doing. It always tastes great on the re-light! Even after sitting half burnt till the next day. Incredible stuff.

My friend, Juan Ordonez, brought me a about two bowl-fulls of what his Abuelo smokes. He only knew it was "burley", no further info. I really liked it. Nutty, strong, and just all around tasty.

Do yall have any suggestions for me as what to try next? I loved the two types of flake that I've tried so far, the burley was really nice, and I'm interested in trying some rope. Please "pipe in" with some suggestions.

Thank yall ahead of time.

I highly recommend any of the Frog Morton series. I also enjoy Squadron Leader and Hearth & Home Anniversary Kake is absolutely delicious. These are my top favorites.

We are not alone. :spy:

If your reasonably new to the pipe, as it sounds that you are and you seem to like Burley Blends, you should give the following a try.

Sugar Barrel - $18.00 – 12oz tub
Carter Hall - $23.00 – 14oz tub
Granger - $18.00 – 14oz tub
Prince Albert - $18.00 – 14oz tub
Spilman Mixture - $20.00 – 7oz tin
Walnut - $22.00 – 12oz tub

FYI, 4noggins sells some of those in 2oz bulk instead of a whole tub.

4noggins.com - DRUG STORE BLENDS

A favorite burley of mine is Pipeworks and Wilke's 'Nut Brown Burley'.

Re: Looking for suggestions

Solani Aged Burley Flake is one of the best burley blends you'll ever stick in your pipe.

Ropes are quite strong, so be forewarned. I've tried a few. Gawith Hoggarth Sweet Rum Twist is my favorite so far...fantastic stuff, it has earned a place in my cellar, I'll be buying a pound with my next order. GH sells a couple of ropes already sliced - the black is quite good; I have mixed feelings on the brown, but it's worth trying. Sam Gawith Black XX is supposed to be good too, but I haven't tried it yet.
