What's the deal with this chicken breader? Do you put distilled water in the bottom to recharge the packs?
Also, do you guys take any special precautions to ensure that the packs dont absorb more moisture then they come with from the factory? Is that something I should even worry about?

You've got it. Distilled water in the bottom, Bovedas in the tray, then let them sit for a week or two or until you can't feel the crystals anymore. I don't worry about getting exactly the weight they come in. As long as they're hydrated and no crystals, right back in the tuppers they go.
If you're using a good tupper like the Systema Klip-it, it may have to be done twice a year. The current stock rehydrating are the ones I started with back in February when I converted all of my storage to tuppers with Spanish cedar trays. The trays most likely took most of the moisture from these packs, but since everything has stabilized, it'll be some time before I'll have to do this again.
I personally don't submerge them, but I imagine for those that do, as mentioned they'll dry them off well before re integrating them into the rotation. Just a personal preference.
