Xikar VX V Cutter : Your experiences ?

Hi - I bought a cheapo V cutter awhile back as an impulse purchase, tried it, and it was terrible. Barely cut the cigar and the draw was non existent. It went in a drawer with all the cigar stuff I never use.

Recently I was reading on the forums about the Xikar VX V cutter. I took a look at the Xikar website and the cut shown was nothing like what my lousy cutter did. Hmmm . . . . I thought. Maybe I'll look further into is particular v cutter.

For those who own the VX - what shapes and sizes of cigars do you use it on ? I primarily use a CC double blade perfect cutter, - how does your VX cut cigars compare in terms of draw, taste (does it affect different cigars differently), overall experience etc ? The VX isn't all that expensive, but I hate to try it only once, not like it, and toss it in 'that drawer' with the other stuff.

Thanks

It's the only cutter I use. I prefer the draw from it to any other type of cut, can't speak much on why, but it's personal preference. More open than a punch, can be widened, or cut across to make a + sign, and still gives a directional draw, which I enjoy, so I can pull the smoke into certain areas of my mouth. It's simply the best IMO

I like it a lot, it's a great product, although I've found for whatever reason I too still use a $13 Cuban Crafters Perfecto more often than not, so the VX is in that drawer you mentioned most of the time at my office.

No knocking it though, I should use it more.

I have V-cuts. That being said, the Xikar VX is an excellent tool if you like that cut. I don't. I hate it.

My cigar nightmare is someone handing me a 60rg sharp box press, and a V-cutter.

30 and change. On eBay they start at 34 but I won at 25 with the usual rapage shipping of cbid.
